How can you help these figure skaters?
You can help Danielle and Alex achieve their skating goals
by making a charitable donation to their training fund or by
becoming a sponsor.  Like many other figure skaters across the
country, the ice dance team of Danielle and Alexander Gamelin
rely on charitable donations to help meet their expenses for
coaching fees, choreography, ice time, equipment, costumes,
travel and competition.  You can make all the difference in this
nationally-ranked competitive ice dance team's future by
making a tax-deductible contribution on their behalf to The
New England Amateur Skating Foundation.
What is The New England Amateur Skating Foundation?
The NEASF is a tax-exempt organization under section
501c3 of the Internal Revenue Code.  The mission of the New
England Amateur Skating Foundation is to help competitive
skaters by defraying some of their ever-increasing expenses.
With many skaters in need of support, the Foundation offers
the opportunity to make charitable donations or sponsor any
skater(s) you would like to help.
What percentage of your donation actually goes to the
skater?
One hundred percent.  The NEASF charges no fees and
there are no deductions of any kind.  Volunteers pay all of the
operating expenses of the Foundation.  All donations are used
to help the skaters.
      How does the NEASF work?
Donations are received from both individuals and corporations.
The monies collected are then used to defray only skating
related expenses such as ice time, coaching fees, costumes
choreographers, off ice training, equipment and travel.
      How are the funds allocated?
The NEASF Allocations Committee reviews its information
about a skater and allocates funds accordingly.  The
information reviewed includes comments and
recommendations of clubs, professionals and donors, as well as
the experience and competitive level of the skater.
How does the skater receive money from the fund?
The skater must submit their bill or bills signed by the skater as
well as there skating professional (coach).  If the skater is
under 18 years of age, the bill(s) must be signed by a parent
and skating professional (coach).  Payment is made directly to
the vendor or provider of services.
      Is my donation tax-deductible?
The New England Amateur Skating Foundation is a tax-exempt
organization organized under section 501c3 of the Internal
Revenue Code.  Donations, therefore, are usually deductible.
You should consult with your tax accountant or advisor as to
how your contribution is to be treated.
